π₯3 – WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
“The Flame Who Sits Between the Wings of the Mercy Seat”
“Who is the Holy Spirit?
He is not a mist, not a feeling, not an influence.
He is the Living God, enthroned in unapproachable light,
but who chose to make His home within dust…
within you.”
π️ THE THIRD PERSON – NOT THIRD IN WORTH
Too many speak of the Holy Spirit like a supporting actor.
But He is God in full measure.
The same glory that shook Sinai…
The same power that tore the veil…
The same presence that filled the Ark…
That is who He is.
π Acts 5:3–4 (NKJV)
“You have not lied to men but to God.”
— Peter, speaking of the Holy Spirit.
The apostles didn’t call Him a “force.”
They said, you lied to God — the Holy Spirit is God.
π️ HE WHO DWELLS ABOVE THE MERCY SEAT
Before we understood the Cross,
before the veil was torn,
there was the Ark of the Covenant.
Inside:
-
The Ten Commandments (the Word)
-
Aaron’s budding rod (the Priesthood)
-
Manna (Heaven’s Bread)
But above them all — the Mercy Seat — was where the glory sat.
π Exodus 25:22 (NKJV)
“And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim...”
That voice…
That cloud…
That glory between the wings…
That was the Holy Spirit.
Today, He no longer hovers above an ark of gold.
He dwells in us — flesh-turned-sanctuary.
We are now His temple (1 Cor. 6:19).
His dwelling place is no longer behind a veil but within our spirit.
π¬️ THE BREATH OF GOD – RUACH
π Genesis 2:7 (NKJV)
“And the Lord God… breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
The Hebrew word is Ruach — wind, breath, Spirit.
That breath was not oxygen.
It was the Holy Spirit.
The very breath that gave Adam life was the Holy Spirit breathing Himself into mankind.
He was not created — He created.
He was not sent to help men evolve — He formed man’s lungs and entered them.
π₯ THE FIRE WHO SPEAKS
He descended on Mt. Sinai as flames,
on Mt. Carmel as consuming fire,
on Pentecost as tongues of fire.
He is not tame. He is not passive. He is holy flame.
π Hebrews 12:29 (NKJV)
“For our God is a consuming fire.”
The fire of the Spirit is not just power — it’s purity.
He burns away compromise.
He sets altars ablaze.
He breaks chains not by force, but by holy combustion.
π§ THE MIND AND EMOTION OF GOD
He feels, He thinks, He teaches, He grieves.
π Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God…”
π 1 Corinthians 2:10–11 (NKJV)
“For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God… no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.”
He is not an “energy.”
He is a Person with thoughts and feelings.
He rejoices when we love truth.
He weeps when we betray holiness.
He celebrates when we glorify Jesus.
He is the mind of God, revealed to our human frailty.
✨ THE SPIRIT OF GLORY
π 1 Peter 4:14 (NKJV)
“The Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.”
What a name.
Spirit of Glory.
He is the cloud that filled Solomon’s temple.
He is the robe of light around the throne.
He is the weight of the kingdom made manifest on earth.
π THE SPIRIT IN THE HIDDEN BOOKS
Even in non-canonical writings, the Holy Spirit’s majesty echoes:
π Wisdom of Solomon 7:22 (Apocrypha):
“For wisdom, which is the worker of all things, taught me: for in her is an understanding spirit; holy, one only, manifold…”
Here, wisdom is not just intellect but a Spirit — holy, pure, loving.
π Book of Jubilees 10:3–5:
“And we cried unto the Lord… and the Spirit of the Lord was sent, who cast all evil spirits from among us…”
Even then, the Spirit was the Deliverer — casting out devils, purging darkness.
π DECLARE WHO HE IS
Let the reader open their mouth, their soul, their temple, and declare:
“Holy Spirit, You are not a feeling.
You are the breath of Genesis.
The fire of Acts.
The voice on Sinai.
The whisper to Elijah.
The dove upon Christ.
The glory in the upper room.
The light inside me now.”
π️ PRAYER – INVITING THE HOLY SPIRIT TO REIGN
“Holy Spirit…
I enthrone You above my reason,
above my desire,
above my theology.
You are the flame that sits upon the mercy seat of my heart.
Forgive me for treating You like background power.
You are front and center now.
Breathe upon my spirit,
ignite my soul,
and take Your rightful place.”
