📜 Scroll of Praise and Worship from the Book of Joshua
The Book of Joshua is the chronicle of conquest and covenant fulfillment. The praises from this book arise in response to the mighty acts of God, the awe of His holy presence, and His faithfulness to His promises. The God of Israel is revealed as a Commander of Armies, a Covenant Keeper, and a Righteous Judge. Let the scroll speak:
🔹I. The Lord Exalts His Servant and Parts the Waters (Joshua 3:7, 13–17)
“Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel,
that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you...
And when the soles of the feet of the priests... rest in the waters of the Jordan,
the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing…
and the people passed over opposite Jericho.”
🔹II. The Ark of the Covenant Goes Before (Joshua 3:11)
“Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth
is passing over before you into the Jordan.”
🔹III. The Lord of All the Earth (Joshua 3:13)
“As soon as the soles of the feet of the priests… shall rest in the waters,
the waters… shall be cut off… and stand in one heap.”
🔹IV. The Commander of the Army of the LORD (Joshua 5:13–15)
“Joshua… lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold,
a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand...
‘I am the commander of the army of the LORD.’
And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped...
‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.’”
🔹V. The Lord Delivers Jericho (Joshua 6:2, 20)
“And the LORD said to Joshua,
‘See, I have given Jericho into your hand...’
So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown.
As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet,
the wall fell down flat.”
🔹VI. He Fights for Israel (Joshua 10:10–11, 14)
“And the LORD threw them into a panic before Israel…
And as they fled… the LORD threw down large stones from heaven…
There has been no day like it before or since,
when the LORD heeded the voice of a man,
for the LORD fought for Israel.”
🔹VII. The Sun and Moon Obey His Voice (Joshua 10:12–13)
“Sun, stand still at Gibeon,
and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon!
And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,
until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.”
🔹VIII. Faithful to Fulfill His Promise (Joshua 21:45)
“Not one word of all the good promises
that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed;
all came to pass.”
🔹IX. Holy is the Lord, the God of Israel (Joshua 24:19)
“You are not able to serve the LORD, for He is a holy God.
He is a jealous God…”
🔹X. As for Me and My House (Joshua 24:15)
“But as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD.”
🙏 Prayer of Praise — From the Scroll of Joshua
O Lord of all the earth, Commander of the heavenly armies,
We praise You, the One who parts rivers and casts down walls.
You exalt whom You choose, and no man can stand against You.
You go before us — the Ark of Your Presence —
And where You go, holy ground appears.
You speak, and waters rise or fall.
You command the sun, and it stands still.
You throw hail from the heavens,
And fight for Your covenant people with thunder and fire.
Who is like You, O King of Glory?
The One who leads captains and crowns the faithful.
You are jealous for righteousness, and zealous for truth.
Every word You have promised — You have fulfilled.
The shout of faith brings down every wall,
And the stillness of reverence unveils the Commander.
We cast our crowns before You,
And declare: “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Faithful are You, O Covenant-Keeper.
Mighty are You, O Deliverer and Righteous Judge.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God of Israel.
We fall before You and worship.
Amen.
