🎁 7 – I CHOOSE TO HOST YOU

You are my daily fire.

🏛️ FROM VISITATION TO HABITATION
Too many treat the Holy Spirit like a guest preacher.
Someone who shows up on Sunday,
but is politely ignored by Monday.
But the Holy Spirit is not a visitor.
He is the eternal resident of the believer’s spirit.
📖 John 14:17 (NKJV)
“…for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
The word “dwell” is from the Greek meno —
to abide, remain, never leave.
Hosting the Holy Spirit is not about a feeling —
It’s about a lifestyle.
A life of:

Yielding
-
Obedience
-
Quietness
-
Prayer
-
Purity
-
Sensitivity
-
Radical honor
🧹 PREPARING THE ROOM
To host the Holy Spirit, we must clean the house.
📖 2 Corinthians 7:1 (NKJV)
“…let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
That means:

No more secret sins.

No more unrepented habits.

No more idols of popularity, comfort, or pride.

No more doors left open to darkness.
We ask:
“Come, Holy Spirit!”
But the Spirit asks:
“Will you make room for Me?”
He is gentle — but holy.
He is loving — but not permissive.
He comes where He is wanted and honored.
🔥 OIL IN THE HOUSE
The wise virgins had oil in their lamps.
The foolish had only memories of fire.
📖 Matthew 25:4 (NKJV)
“But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.”
To host the Holy Spirit, we need fresh oil.

Oil of prayer

Oil of fasting

Oil of worship

Oil of yielded hearts
Not recycled sermons.
Not secondhand intimacy.
Not hype.
Real oil. Personal oil.
Holy Spirit, I won’t just sing about You.
I’ll carry oil for You.
🕊️ HOLY SPIRIT, BE COMFORTABLE HERE
Hosting means more than tolerating — it means welcoming.
We must ask:
“Holy Spirit, do You feel at home here?”

In my thought life?

In my phone’s content?
-
In my conversations?
-
In my reactions when no one sees?
If He is grieved, He withdraws.
If He is honored, He rests.
📖 Isaiah 66:1–2 (NKJV)
“But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.”
You dwell in those who tremble.
Those who lower themselves.
Those who honor You without condition.
👑 DECLARATION – YOU ARE WELCOME TO REIGN HERE
“Holy Spirit,
This is not a one-time prayer.
This is a lifestyle.
You are welcome today.
You are welcome tonight.
You are welcome in my thoughts, in my ears, in my hands.
You are welcome when I rise and when I sleep.
I give You the keys.
No more rooms locked away.
No more parts of me closed off.
No more giving You a couch when You deserve the throne.
Be enthroned in my being.
Let my breath worship You.
Let my silence honor You.
Let my decisions reflect You.
You are no longer visiting.
You are home.”

📖 Book of Sirach 1:6–7 (Apocrypha):
“To whom has the root of wisdom been revealed? And who has known her great experience? There is one wise and greatly to be feared, sitting upon his throne.”
Wisdom — the Spirit — is to be hosted in reverence.
You are the Spirit of wisdom.
The Spirit of fire.
The Spirit of truth.
You do not move in where there is filth.
You do not share space with idols.
You are worthy of exclusive dwelling.
