What the Holy Spirit Wants to Say Through This Encounter

Beloved, the Holy Spirit wants to remind us that our identity is not found in our genealogy, traditions, or religious labels — it is found in Jesus Christ alone.

In Deuteronomy 9:4-5 (NKJV), Moses says:

"Do not think in your heart, after the LORD your God has cast them out before you, saying, 'Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land.' For you are a stiff-necked people. Rather, it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is driving them out before you."

Here’s the essence:

  1. Humility over pride – Israel should not assume their position is due to their own merit or righteousness. God’s favor is not earned by human goodness.

  2. Judgment on wickedness – The reason the Canaanite nations were removed is their sinfulness, not Israel’s superiority. God’s actions are always righteous, and human goodness does not dictate His favor.

  3. Spiritual principle – Often, God raises certain people or nations to prominence not because they are inherently better, but because of His purposes, and sometimes in contrast to the wickedness around them. This is a warning against pride and self-righteousness.

So, Moses is essentially saying: “Don’t get full of yourself. God chose you, but not because you are better. He acts according to justice and purpose, not human merit.”

It does not matter if you were born in the “right” bloodline, or if you’ve kept certain rituals from birth — if Christ is not your Savior, you remain outside the covenant of grace.

Galatians 3:26–28 (NKJV):

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free,
there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

When you know your identity in Him, no lie, no cult, no spiritual manipulator can shake your assurance.
You stand firm because the Word of God defines you, not the opinions of man.

John 1:12 (NKJV):

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

The Holy Spirit wants you to understand this deeply: You are not a second-class citizen in the Kingdom of God. There is no “underclass” in the Body of Christ. We are all one in Him, each with a unique calling and inheritance.

Key Lessons from This Encounter

  1. Know the Word for Yourself
If I didn’t know the Scriptures, the enemy’s twisted questions could have planted seeds of doubt.
    2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV):

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

  2. Salvation Is Through Christ Alone
No lineage, law-keeping, or ritual can replace faith in the finished work of Jesus.
    Ephesians 2:8–9 (NKJV):

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

  3. Test Every Spirit
Not everyone who speaks “religious” words speaks by the Spirit of God. Pride in self or heritage is a red flag.
    1 John 4:1 (NKJV):

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

  4. Identity in Christ Is Unshakable
When you know who you are in Jesus, the enemy cannot redefine you.
    Romans 8:16–17 (NKJV):

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…

  5. Always Be Ready to Stand for Your Faith
Whether in a casual conversation or a spiritual confrontation, be prepared to boldly confess Christ.
    1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV):

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.

  6. Humility Is the Mark of True Greatness
The highest position in God’s Kingdom is not for the proud but for the humble servant.
    Mark 10:44 (NKJV):

And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.

A Final Word

In that conversation, the Holy Spirit made it clear: the devil doesn’t just attack through sin — he attacks through pride, elitism, and religious deception.

If the serpent can make you feel “less than” in God’s Kingdom, you’ll begin to doubt your place at the Father’s table.

But you are seated with Christ.

Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV):

And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Stand in that truth. Refuse to let prideful voices, false gospels, or elitist doctrines redefine your worth. You are not just “in” the Kingdom — you are loved, chosen, and sealed for the day of redemption.
