The Boat and the Boy – A Parable of Redemption

Meanwhile, a sister in Christ shared the story of a boy who made a boat.
He worked on it with love and skill until it was finished and couldn’t wait to show it to his friend. But one day, a storm came and swept the boat away. The boy searched everywhere but could not find it.

One day, in the marketplace, he saw the same boat and ran to the seller, saying:

“This is my boat. I made it. Could you please give it back to me?”

The seller replied:

“I don’t care if you made it. I found it. If you want it, you have to pay for it.”

The boy went home, gathered all his money, and gave it to the seller. He took the boat in his hands and said:

“Now you are mine twice—once because I made you, and again because I bought you.”

God’s Love – Creator and Redeemer

The sister explained that this is just like God’s love for us. He made us in His image (Genesis 1:27), but sin came like a storm and took us away from Him. The enemy wanted to keep us, to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

But God, in His mercy, left His throne and paid the price for our sins through His only begotten Son, Jesus. By His sacrifice and His pure, holy blood (1 Peter 1:18–19), He brought redemption to all who believe.

Just like the seller could not refuse the boy’s payment, death and hell could not refuse Jesus’ payment. He went into the grave, took the keys of death and Hades (Revelation 1:18), restored the lost authority, and rescued His children from eternal separation from God.

He loves you, wants a relationship with you, and will leave the ninety-nine to come for the one who is lost (Luke 15:4–7).

So today, if you are far from God or do not know that Christ died for you, remember this:

While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

Anyone who accepts His payment and is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 21:27) will have eternal life.

Nine Souls for Jesus

That night, about seventy people came, and nine gave their lives to Jesus.

Scott, a homeless man, came forward for prayer but saw others already surrounded by believers and began to walk away. I saw him and couldn’t let him go without prayer. I approached, introduced myself, and began to pray. Brother Peter joined me, and together we prayed, prophesied, and encouraged Scott to reconcile with the Lord. I invited him to come to church.

It was a profound night—made even more meaningful by the story shared with such zeal, passion, and love.
